Description
The Yucatan Peninsula from Sian-Ka’an south through Ambergris Key to Belize City requires a couple specific permit flies for a better shot at success. Sometimes permit there are on deeper flats where a heavy fly is needed (Avalon Fly, large Raghead). There are also tiny crabs on some of the flats that are imitated by nickel size pattern crabs flies (Camo Crabs). Permit in this fishery also eat shrimp patterns fairly often (Mantis Shrimp and Avalon Fly).
