There was a time when the "worm hatch" was a discrete event. Certainly to the worms it's the same way but for anglers fishing a worm fly there doesn't need to be a worm hatch. Our Magic Worm is originally meant to be fished during the actual hatch but like all worm flies tarpon will eat them when they feel like it.
If you want a this fly to put up a good wake fish it as is. The foam can be trimmed to adjust so you can just get it to sink into the surface film, trim more and will sink a little deeper.
This fly only comes in one size, 1/0 but we use the Gamakatsu SL12s a very strong sticky hook that will hold up to the most blistering tarpon attack.
