Crab Cake

The Crab Cake Permit Fly took a couple years to come into shape. We needed a sideward moving crab that would drop fast and with the right attitude. If the Permit didn't eat as the fly dropped it had to handle being stripped at least a bit, without twisting. That's all pretty easy on a crab tied front to back on a hook but turn it sideward and all kinds of things can happen. After trying all kinds of techniques and tweaks and testing for a couple seasons the Crab Cake was ready; Let them eat Crab Cake! Actually anything that eats crab likes Crab Cake. Available in two sizes; a large #1 and short shanked #2 (more like a size 6 crab).
