We do this fly pretty true to the original, the body is thicker and tougher than most commercially tied patterns and of course we substitute our favorite fox fur for the typical craft fur wing.
Any one going to Christmas Island needs to bring a bunch of these flies, get #6 and #8 in different colors. Bonefish throughout the Caribbean and Central America also love this fly.
Our Christmas Island special comes in three colors and three sizes all on Gamakatsu SL-11 hook. The #4 is a heavy weighted fly more for the Bahamas, the #6 and #8 are lighter and a little sparse perfect for Christmas Island.
